Chaya Tours was established in 2016 to provide a bespoke and authentic alternative to the pre-packaged tours offered by the major travel agencies. Its aim is to give you the best experience of Japan at an affordable price. Chaya Tours promises you a unique and satisfying experience of Japan, offering valuable insights, unique adventures, authentic tastes, and most importantly, unforgettable memories.

Chaya Tours is managed by experienced guide Naoko Shimoaka. She holds the official "National Guide Certificate" and has been guiding foreign tourists since 2012. She also studied Tourism & Hospitality Management in the UK. She has travelled extensively and has a lot of great memories. She hopes that you will have similar feelings of excitement when you explore Tokyo with Chaya Tours, as she has when traveling abroad.

Our tours and guiding are conducted on foot using public transportation. Most tours require a good amount of walking so you need to wear suitable shoes and be in good health.

Guiding starts from ¥5,000 per hour for groups of up to 6 people. (Cost of food, transportation, and admission fees are NOT included in the price.)

Tours groups may be up to 10 people and need a minimum of 3 people to run. (Cost of food, transportation, and admission fees ARE included in the prices.)

We recommend you take out personal travel insurance before travelling to Japan. Chaya Guiding and Tours accepts no liability for loss or damage of your personal effects.
